A Debunking of Cultural Marxist Talking Points 4

Patience, this series will end soon enough, and then I'll get to more varied writing.

Chapter 4: Your Ideas About Modern Society Are Wrong

In the last chapter I discussed (and provided sources for) examples of history being used to guilt-trip, and it kind of bled into discussions of modern European society. I only did so because most of the people who have criticized American history and culture (in my experience, anyway) are in fact Europeans, and the last bit of chapter 3 was to illustrate how incorrect this was, and illustrate how progressive writers and politicos in Europe will disparage their own nations and cultures similarly to those in America.  In this chapter, I will attack how the assumptions progressives have towards MODERN society are also wrong, and how some people profit from propagating these views

Debunking Cultural Marxist Talking Points Part 3

Chapter 3: Western Civilization And History-The Sledgehammer of Guilt

Be warned, this is going to be a long one.
If there is one thing that progressives love attacking more than the "outmoded" beliefs of human nature, it is "evil, arrogant" Western society, especially that of the United States of America. After all, it fits so well with their noble savage ideologies, does it not? The sins of the white devils are totally unique to human history, and they don't even feel any guilt for it!!1

Debunking Cultural Marxist Talking Points: Part 2

Chapter 2: Anthropology: Humanity in its splendor

From what I can see, the root of the problem with anthropology is not Mr. Franz Boas, although he certainly deserves some malice. It goes back to France's own Jean-Jacques Rousseau-he of the noble savage and the blank slate. From him most of modern leftism is derived. I will not delay any further:

A Debunking of Cultural Marxist Talking Points

or: WHY I STOPPED BEING A PROGRESSIVE: A RAMBLING CRAPFEST BY LARSEN HALLECK

Chapter 1: My background

If you've read the About Page, and the Introduction post (and really, why wouldn't you?), you'll know my name is Larsen Halleck, a graduate student studying in California, and born and raised in New Jersey.

As you might have assumed, this philosophical treatise (I'll avoid calling it a manifesto because I'd rather not be put on a government watchlist) will essentially explain my own personal reasons for why I abandoned modern leftism/modern progressivism/the "New Left", or whatever you would call it (I will explain later what I mean by "modern leftism").
